“Friends of the man who was stuck in a tree called for help. According to the first information, he was uninjured, but it took a while for the firemen to find him in the relatively difficult terrain,” said Roman Krčmář, spokesman for the South Bohemian Fire Department.
He mentioned that it was one of the more difficult interventions. Firefighters used adjustable ladders, climbing ropes and a grappling hook. One of them climbed up to the “castaway” and then abseiled down. The firefighters did not explain how the paraglider hit one of the tallest trees. Perhaps a gust of wind. “The important thing is that the man escaped unharmed. The intervention ended up lasting about two hours,” Krčmář added.
