The students of the Gymnasium “Hamdi Berisha”, the Center of Competence “Kujtim Krasniqi” and the Gymnasium “Lasgush Pogradeci” in Kijevo have today protested in Malishevo, as a sign of opposition to the decision of the Special Court for the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
The students marched in support of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selim, opposing the convicting verdict of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo.
On September 16, the Specialized Chambers in The Hague sentenced the former KLA leaders to a total of 81 years in prison. Hashim Thaçi was sentenced to 15 years in prison, Kadri Veseli to 18 years, Jakup Krasniqi to 26 years and Rexhep Selimi to 22 years.
The protest in Malishevë comes within the framework of the reactions in Kosovo after the announcement of the verdict against the four former leaders of the KLA, while protests have been held in Pristina as well as in several European countries for several days.
