Čech was arrested on Monday and the court then sent him to custody, the Slovak police said on Facebook on Thursday. “The man is facing charges of criminal endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance concurrently with the criminal offense of restricting personal freedom,” the police wrote.
Marek V. drove in his BMW car from the territory of the Czech Republic through Austria to Slovakia and the whole time he was supposed to prevent his passenger from getting out and leaving.
“This prevented him from personal freedom,” stated the policemen. “The injured man eventually managed to call for help,” they added.
Austrian policemen began to chase the car, but the driver continued to refuse to stop. He got as far as Slovak territory, where the Slovak police joined in the pursuit.
“The driver of the vehicle did not manage his extremely risky driving and in the rainy weather he drove the vehicle off the road, where it hit a public light pole,” explained the Slovak police.
The driver refused the alcohol breath test and the appropriate medical examination at the medical facility. According to Slovak laws, this is also a crime.
