“A helicopter transported a cyclist with a serious head injury to the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové,” ambulance spokeswoman Lucie Hanušová told Novinkám.
Police spokeswoman Šárka Pižlová specified that it was a head-on collision. The driver’s breath test for alcohol and drugs was negative.
This is not the only serious traffic accident in the Hradec Králové region on Sunday. After noon, two passenger cars collided near Šárovcova Lhota in Jičínsk. Five people were injured, the driver of one of them had to be extricated by firefighters and handed over to rescuers, who also transported him by air to the Faculty Hospital in Králové Hradec.
