The cottage started burning around three o’clock in the morning, one professional and seven volunteer fire brigades arrived at the scene. “Flames from the roof structure affected by the fire were already visible when the firefighters arrived at the scene,” said the spokeswoman for the Moravian-Silesian fire department, Kamila Langerová.
She added that the firefighting units are from outside and inside the cottage. “To extinguish the fire, the firemen deployed five water jets, dismantled parts of the roof structure and looked for hidden foci,” she described, adding that they used height technology to search for hidden foci, which allowed them safe access to the parts of the building affected by the fire.
It took the firefighters almost two hours to locate the fire, and it took them another three and a half hours to eliminate it. “The local volunteer unit will monitor the scene of the fire until 12:00 on Sunday, they are trying to figure out why the cottage caught fire,” added Langerová.
