Talks about the new government, Kurti: We are making a plan to start the process with the parties

While there are still 12 days left for the formation of the new government by the Vetëvendosje Movement, the party that came first in the February 9 elections, the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, declared that he has not yet started negotiations with any of the political parties.

He emphasized that they are making a plan to start such a process in the coming days.

We are making a plan for this as well. We have more than 10 days,” said the prime minister.

Meanwhile, Fatmir Limaj’s party, the Social Democratic Initiative, announced that it would respond positively to any invitation from the Vetëvendosje Movement to discuss the formation of a new government.

Deputy Xhevahire Izmaku told “KosovaPress” that her party has a political responsibility and there is no reason not to sit at the discussion table with Kurti’s party. She emphasized that if the formation of the new government depends only on the three votes of the Social Democratic Initiative, then in relation to the creation of new institutions by her party, there will be no conditions.

However, Ms. Izmaku underlined the need to clarify the position of the Speaker of the Assembly, Dimal Basha, as according to her, the legislature should not function with a figure who has created divisions.

The chairman of Vetëvendosje, Kurti, was appointed prime minister by President Vjosa Osmani on October 11. The Prime Minister said on Monday that during this week he will start the talks on the formation of the new government.
