Singer Oliver Tree died in a collision between two helicopters in Brazil

Two helicopters collided over a parking lot for electric cars in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood in the southwestern part of Rio de Janeiro. In the accident, all five people on board one helicopter and the pilot of the other machine, who was flying alone in the helicopter, died.

At least twenty vehicles burned in the accident, reported the Brazilian mutation server CNN.

“Parts of the machines are scattered hundreds of meters away, so the information we have is still very preliminary,” said fire chief Fabio Contreiras. “We really need to get records and videos to understand exactly what happened,” he added.

Among the victims was a thirty-two-year-old singer, rapper and Oliver Tree. He had almost twenty million followers on social networks, over 11 million people listened to him a month on the social network Spotify.

The singer was in the middle of a worldwide tour, during which he wanted to visit all continents.

Small plane accidents are relatively common in Brazil, the fifth largest country in the world. Last month, a small plane crashed into a building in the city of Belo Horizonte, killing the pilot and co-pilot. According to the Brazilian Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Air Accidents – not including the current accident – there were 84 air accidents in 2026 in which 25 people died.
