Private jets full of cash. Oligarchs connected to Orbán are moving assets abroad

As noted by the Népszava newspaper with reference to the website vsquare.org, Magyar’s overwhelming victory shook the economic empire of the Orbán regime. Some oligarchs started moving assets abroad even before the elections, and others also do not want to wait for what the new government with a constitutional majority in the parliament will do.

“According to several sources close to the government, key oligarchs are trying to move their wealth out of Hungary before the new Hungarian government freezes, confiscates or nationalizes it. Private jets are said to be used to transport cash and other valuables mainly to Middle Eastern countries,” the website said.

In the case of the older generation of oligarchs, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia should be the target.

In this context, the website noted that, for example, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia do not have an extradition treaty with Hungary. “As long as the Trump administration is in power, even the United States could be a safe haven for the highest echelons of the Orbán regime,” the website stated.

Orbán’s daughter in the USA

In this context, it is interesting that the prime minister’s eldest daughter, Ráhel Orbánová, with her husband and three children flew to New York last August. Her husband István Tiborcz is one of the richest Hungarians.

Even before the elections, information appeared that the businessman and son of the former governor of the Hungarian National Bank, Ádám Matolcsy, had his most valuable assets secretly transported to Dubai.

Luxury cars, furniture and other property were to be sent in containers by rail to one of the European ports, where they are loaded onto ships bound for the United Arab Emirates.

His father, former central bank governor György Matolcsy, also spends most of his time in Dubai.
