The strike on the Russian airport in the Rostov region was announced on Telegram by the commander of the Ukrainian drone units, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi. In addition to two planes, Ukrainian drones also destroyed the Iskander missile system, which fires short-range ballistic missiles.
Other Ukrainian drones also hit the oil warehouse of the Kurganněftprodukt company in the port near Taganrog, which belongs to the Russian state company Rosneft, the coastal oil terminal near the Crimean city of Feodosia, and also a tanker of the Russian shadow fleet.
According to the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, Ukrainian drones also hit the Armavir oil warehouse in the Krasnodar region, which is about 500 kilometers from the border.
“The night of May 30 was fiery,” Brovdi assessed the damage according to the Unian agency, adding that the newly created Center for Deep Destruction of Unmanned Systems forces helped coordinate the attacks.
With drone strikes on oil infrastructure, Ukraine is trying to reduce the combat capabilities of the invading units and force the Russian regime to end the war.
“We have a clear right to return the war to where it came from. Russia could have ended its aggression a long time ago, but it decided to prolong it and continue. That’s why we decided to hit other targets,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in response to the events of Saturday night.
