The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced at the opening of the cabinet meeting the meeting he held with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, at the Elysee Palace in Paris, a meeting that he said lasted about two hours.
The head of the government said that the focus of the meeting with Macron was Kosovo’s integration into the EU, security and defense.
“On Friday afternoon I was a guest of the president of France at a meeting and a working lunch at the Elysee Palace. The warm reception was followed by a deep and sincere discussion of about two hours that focused on the topics of cooperation and integration, security and defense, as well as economy and development.“, Kurti said in front of his cabinet.
Kurti also said that he and President Macron talked about Kosovo’s path towards membership in the EU and other international organizations.
“Then for the important and continuous role of NATO in Kosovo, for the cooperation with the North Atlantic allies and for regional security in the Balkans”, Kurt said.
Kurti said that in this two-hour meeting with the president of France, the strengthening of defense capacities and relations with the northern neighbor were issues that they discussed together in the context of the country’s security.
