Kosovo – The CEC certifies the voter list for the October 12 elections, over 2 million citizens with the right to vote

In the local elections to be held on October 12, 2025 in Kosovo, over 2 million citizens, at home and abroad, will have the right to vote for mayors and municipal assemblies.

The Central Election Commission in Kosovo has completed this Saturday (September 6) the process of certification of the voter list. According to the official data published by the CEC, this election will be entitled to 2,069,098 citizens. Of these, 2,025,105 voters are registered within the territory of Kosovo, while 43,993 citizens are registered to vote via post from abroad.

The organization of the electoral process will extend to 938 polling stations, which will include a total of 2,625 polling stations. Of them, 910 polling stations will serve regular voting, while 38 voting centers are assigned to bail.

CEC chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi said that citizens should verify through the CEC platform the center where they will vote on election day. The CEC has announced that all logistical and administrative preparations are in the final stage.

In the local elections for the 38th Kosovo municipalities, 93 entities have been certified: 32 political parties, 32 civic initiatives, two coalitions and 27 independent candidates.

Certified entities are listed with numbers from 100 to 192. Among the main groups, based on the lot, the Vetevendosje Movement will compete with no. 105; The Democratic Party of Kosovo will have no. 191; Democratic League of Kosovo with no. 113; Alliance for the Future of Kosovo with no. 174; Social Democratic Initiative with no. 186; Alternatives with no. 103; List Drait with no. 118; Whereas the Serbian List in the October 12 local elections will compete with no. 170.
