Kim promised Russia constant support. His army received an invitation to Moscow for this

North Korea’s official KCNA news agency reported on Saturday that Kim and Bělousov reached a “satisfactory consensus” on strengthening the strategic partnership and defending Russian and North Korean sovereignty and security interests. Kim promised Bělousov “unceasing support of Russia in the defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity against the progress of imperialists to hegemony”.

According to the Russian media, during the meeting in Pyongyang, Bělousov invited the North Korean army to take part in the parade celebrating the anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany, which will take place on May 9 in Moscow.

North Korea supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to both Pyongyang and Moscow, it is a defensive reaction to the risky expansion of NATO’s influence towards the east and to the efforts of the United States to depose Russia from its position as a great power. Earlier this month, Kim criticized the decision of the United States to allow Ukraine to use American missiles to attack targets on the territory of Russia as a direct intervention in the conflict. The AP agency reports that the North Korean dictator spoke of the massive Russian attacks on Ukraine in recent days as a “well-timed and effective step” that demonstrates Russia’s determination.

The United States, Ukraine and South Korea estimate that the DPRK has sent more than 10,000 troops to Russia, and that some of them are already deployed in frontline fighting. According to Washington and Seoul, North Korea also supplied Russia with artillery systems, missiles and other weapons to help Moscow replenish supplies. Neither North Korea nor Russia have officially confirmed the deployment of North Korean soldiers in the battles against the Ukrainian army, and they reject information about the supply of weapons.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is also going to Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

He received the invitation despite the fact that Slovakia is officially on the Russian list of “not friendly countries”. “I was pleased to accept the official invitation of the President of the Russian Federation V. Putin to participate in these important celebrations, which I will do,” Fico responded to the invitation on social networks.
