“I believe that (the US 28-point peace plan) can be used as a basis for a final peace settlement,” Putin said literally, according to the TASS news agency.
“We are ready for peaceful negotiations, for solving problems by peaceful means, but of course this requires a substantial discussion on all the details of the proposed plan,” continued the Russian president.
At the same time, he complained that no one consults the mentioned plan with Russia in detail. “And I can guess why. The American administration has not yet obtained the consent of the Ukrainian side. Ukraine is against it,” said Putin.
At the same time, he expressed his satisfaction with the developments on the front, which – as he stated – lead to Russia achieving the goals of its “special military operation” (Russian term for the war in Ukraine, note red.) by military means.
Putin added that what happened in Kupjansk in recent days “will inevitably be repeated in other key sectors of the front”.
The head of the Kremlin was alluding to the statement of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov from this week that the Russian forces captured this city in the Kharkiv region. But Kiev denied it.
