Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah himself is fine, a source close to the movement told AFP after reports that the movement’s leader was the target of today’s Israeli attacks in Beirut. Footage released by Lebanese media shows massive plumes of smoke over high-rise buildings in Beirut.
Israeli attacks in Beirut left at least two dead and 76 injured, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced in a preliminary report. The source of the AFP agency talks about six completely destroyed buildings.

“Just a moment ago, the Israel Defense Forces carried out a precision strike on the central headquarters of the terrorist organization Hezbollah…they took the necessary steps to protect our people so that Israeli families can live safely in their homes,” he said Hagar.
Netanyahu left early
The attack occurred immediately after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before the UN General Assembly in New York. “Netanyahu left in the middle of a briefing with Israeli reporters after his speech at the UN. A few minutes before Netanyahu cut short the briefing and left with his advisers, his military secretary, Major General Roman Gofman, whispered something in his ear,” wrote the Times of Israel website.
Netanyahu previously said in a speech that Hezbollah is choosing the path of war and Israel has no choice because it can no longer tolerate an army of terrorists on its northern border.
In the last week, the situation in Lebanon intensified after a series of explosions of pagers and radios used by Hezbollah and the subsequent intensification of Israeli strikes against Hezbollah. According to the Israeli army, the targets of the raids, which take place mainly in the south of Lebanon, but also in the vicinity of Beirut and in the east of Lebanon, are Hezbollah facilities. Hezbollah also intensified airstrikes against Israel.
The Israeli prime minister also accused Iran of organizing a fight against Israel on several fronts. He told Tehran that he would respond to a possible strike. Iran is a traditional ally of the Shiite Hezbollah. At the same time, Israel is continuing the operation in the Gaza Strip with the aim of eradicating the Palestinian terrorist movement Hamas there.
