Investigations into Croatian KFOR pilot, President Milanovic responds

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic has reacted to investigations against a Croatian Armed Forces officer, JE (54), suspected of spying to the detriment of the Republic of Croatia.

According to Croatian media, KFOR pilot and his girlfriend, AM (46), Serbian nationals from Kosovo, have been questioned for suspicion of sharing sensitive information on KFOR movements with the Serbian List.

Milanovic expressed full support for Croatian institutions, especially for the Military Security and Intelligence Agency (VSOA), stressing that their activities have identified the possibility of committing criminal offenses and taken measures to prevent further action.

Every member of the Croatian Armed Forces must perform the military duty with honor, honesty and in accordance with the law, and if any violation of law and oath is found, it must be appropriately punished, ” Milanovic stated.

The Split District Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed the opening of the espionage investigation under Article 348, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. Ji and AM are placed in custody to prevent the investigative process. President Milanovic said he expects an effective investigation to uncover all the facts of the matter.
