Historic union of Albanians in Montenegro, the creation of the “Albanian Forum” is expected

Radio and Television of Montenegro, citing reliable but not yet official sources, reports that the Albanian political parties in the Balkan country are preparing to unite in a single political entity called the “Albanian Forum”.

This would be the first time that a single Albanian political party would be created at the state level.

According to the Montenegrin public broadcaster, the agreement envisages the merger of the Albanian Alternative, the Democratic League of Albanians and the National Union of Albanians, where the single political entity will likely be led by Nik Gjeloshaj.

The Albanian politician currently serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of Economic Policies and Minister of Economic Development in Montenegro, while earlier he held the position of the mayor of the municipality of Tuzi.

The Montenegrin media reports that the deputy mayor of the municipality of Tuzi, Ivan Ivanaj, and the head of the National Union of Albanians, Ferhat Dinosha, also contributed to this expected political union.

Albanians run the municipality of Tuzi and according to the latest polls there is growing support for the Albanian Forum in Ulcinj as well, where this political force is considered one of the most powerful alternatives in the local political scene, while it aims to take over the leadership of that municipality after the next local elections.
