Tejc stated that the guard “didn’t pay enough attention” to the control of the prisoners, and the person in question probably managed to raise the fence with the help of tools in cooperation with another. These spaces are normally monitored electronically, but precisely because prisoners were moving in them, the detection systems were switched off.
According to Novinek, the Prison Service found out that the prisoner was missing only during a later recount. The young man was convicted of drug and violent crimes.
According to Tejce, this is a misconduct from which personal responsibility will be derived. The director of the prison was put out of service, and his deputy responsible for security was terminated. The same happened to the head of the relevant department. The General Inspection of the Security Forces (GIBS) is dealing with the case.
