Haxhiu starts the consultations for the elections today, June 7 the main option

The Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, is expected to start consultations with political parties today (April 30) to set the date of early parliamentary elections.

The consultative meeting has been announced to be held at 15:00, as part of efforts to determine an acceptable date for all political parties.

The day before, Haxhiu held a meeting with the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi. After the meeting, Radoniqi declared that June 7 is considered the most favorable date for organizing the election process.

According to him, the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has determined that the elections can be held on May 31 or June 7.

“In our opinion, it is June 7, but it remains for the president to decide”, said Radoniqi, adding that the final date will be set after the end of the consultations.

He also emphasized the need for the CEC to have sufficient time for the preparation of the election process, while the budget for the organization of the elections is expected to be close to that of the previous elections.
