The dark-toned speech less than six weeks before the presidential election follows the former head of state’s previous statement that immigrants are coming to the US from prisons and mental institutions and that they are “poisoning the blood of our country.” Trump often portrays immigrants as a danger, even though studies do not show that they commit crimes more often than Americans.
Similar to other appearances, Trump highlighted individual cases in Wisconsin on Saturday when people living in the US without permission were accused of violent acts. On the stage he had photos of detained foreigners and a large sign “Deport illegals now”.
“I will free Wisconsin from this mass migration invasion of murderers, rapists, hooligans, drug dealers, crooks and brutal gang members,” said the Republican presidential candidate. In his speech, he referred to some immigrants as “animals” or “cold-blooded killers” and warned the audience that they would be “cut up” in their homes.
“You have to get those people back where they came from. You have no choice. You will lose your culture, you will lose your country,” he added.
The ex-president also stated that this threat to the USA was caused by Harris. “(Current President) Joe Biden became mentally challenged, Kamala was born that way… Only a mentally challenged person could allow this to happen to our country,” he said.
According to The New York Times, the Trump team has taken its attacks on Harris to a “new low.” The team of the candidate of the Democratic Party did not directly respond to the ex-president’s insults. “He (Trump) has nothing inspiring to offer the American people, only darkness,” the Harris campaign said.
He wants to deport millions of foreigners
Trump promises that if he is re-elected, the US will deport millions of foreigners living in the country illegally. Meanwhile, Harris also presents herself as a border protector and criticizes Trump for helping to bury the nascent compromise in Congress on immigration restrictions at the beginning of the year. Lawmakers discussed them at a time of record statistics on migrants caught at the border with Mexico, but since then the numbers have dropped dramatically.
In total, according to Reuters, during Biden’s tenure, the government recorded the detention of seven million migrants after illegally entering the US from Mexico, which is a record high total. The asylum system, which has been overburdened for a long time, cannot handle the onslaught, and opinion polls before the elections show that the situation on the southern border is a crucial issue for American voters.
