Friend Miro. According to the documents, Epstein was also in contact with Slovak ex-minister Lajčák

The contacts result from the analysis of the so-called “Epstein files”, e-mails from the financier’s electronic correspondence, and Epstein’s efforts to lobby for Lajčák with influential American politicians also point to them. The Aktuality.sk and SME.sk servers drew attention to it, and the 36O-tka news website also published a transcript of the conversation.

In June 2019, Epstein wrote from Paris that he was personally with “Mir”, i.e. Miroslav Lajčák, the Slovak foreign minister at the time.

In the e-mails, he suggested contacting John Bolton or Mike Pompeo, important members of the administration of US President Donald Trump during his first term of office, who could influence Lajčák’s candidacy for the post of Deputy Secretary General of NATO. It was a key position within the alliance that the Slovak diplomat was striving for at that time.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remained reserved in its statements and only mentioned Lajčák’s reputation on the international scene.

According to documents published by the US Congress, Epstein also communicated with Lajčák during the Slovak mass protests in 2018. In messages for Steve Bannon, a former Trump strategist, he then mentioned the fall of the Slovak government and the direct political crisis following the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak. In the conversation, he sent articles or discussed current events in Slovakia.

Epstein referred to Lajčák as a close friend, a highly informed source from European diplomacy and a serious candidate for the UN president. It is evident from the communication that they also met in person, for example during trips in Paris or New York.

Reports show that Epstein advised Lajčák and followed his political ambitions in connection with campaigns and international negotiations.

Lajčák denies close contacts

Miroslav Lajčák sent his statement to Teraz.sk on Friday, in which he strongly condemned the actions of Jeffrey Epstein.

He emphasized that he communicated with Epstein only socially as part of his diplomatic duties, and all serious accusations and criminal activities of the American financier came to light only after his arrest. Lajčák added that he was never invited to any criminal activity, nor did he know about it.

Slovak pilot Nadia Marcinko (Nada Marcinková), who was among his associates and has been considered missing in recent months, also joined the investigation of Epstein’s network.

Epstein faced charges of illegal sex trafficking and criminal conspiracy. According to prosecutors, between 2002 and 2005, at his residences in New York and Florida, he paid dozens of underage girls, some of whom were allegedly as young as 14, for sexual services. The financier denied all accusations. In 2019, he committed suicide in custody, where he was awaiting trial. However, the case is still closely watched in the United States. Among other things, also because of Epstein’s contacts with Trump.

According to the published correspondence, Lajčák had no part in Epstein’s criminal activities.
