“We all agree here that we haven’t seen it before. It is raining so much that the Bílá Labe, or rather its bed, no longer receives water and it spilled all around. Water flows around the shed from both sides,” Klára Sovová, co-owner of Luční bouda, told Novinkám.
“It will surround us and it will again connect to the riverbed of the Elbe. That amount of water found a new way. We don’t have a problem with it flowing into our building, it’s designed for melting and adjusted so that the water doesn’t flow, but we’ve never really had such a pond here,” added Sovová.
“When I see that amount of water and know that it will come together somewhere down in Spindle, then it can be a problem. We are thinking of everyone down there,” she added.
Luční bouda, which is the largest and oldest hut on the Krkonoše ridges, remained open. Only about twenty-five of the roughly 120 guests stayed on Saturday.
