In Party Fiala, he repeatedly jumped into the speech of the moderator Tománková in an affected voice. “Does everything work at the building authorities? It doesn’t work,” Fiala kept repeating, saying that the recall of Bartoš was the only option.
“Pirates behave like little children. They sat with us in the government for a thousand days and suddenly everything bothers them,” he responded incomprehensibly to the current actions of his political partner. “To say that my godfathers are driving me is very insulting, but I’ll get over it,” he added.
At the same time, he explained why he is so irritated. So far, he has been accused of not being able to show emotions. “That’s how I show them,” faced the prime minister.
He repeated that no one forced him to do anything, that he just came to the conclusion that Ivan Bartoš cannot handle the digitization of construction management and it is not worth giving him another chance.
In the interview, he stated that he met with the Pirates on Thursday, two days after Bartoš’s dismissal, and discussed with them possible options for the next course of action. “Either they will not leave the government, or we will amend the coalition agreement and they will support the government, or they will be a radical opposition and deny everything they have done for three years,” he said.
Fiala said on Sunday that he wants to be clear about what the government coalition will look like by Wednesday at the latest. He expects a complete government within 14 days. In addition, he said that he is not planning a major reconstruction of the government.
At the same time, he did not rule out that he would abolish the post of Minister for Legislation when the Pirates leave the government.
Criticism would be the same
Fiala got upset because of Bartoš already on Saturday. “Even if I did it with Ivan Bartoš in any way, there will be criticism. How could she not be? So I couldn’t look in the mirror? Not so. But those who then had a press where they lied, told untruths and moralized at the same time, they can’t look in the mirror,” thundered the otherwise calm Fiala at the post-election press.
The team alluded to the Pirates’ briefing, where they accused the ODS ministers of pressuring the prime minister to remove Bartoš from the post of regional development minister, and called the ODS a godfather party. However, according to the accused civil democrats, the alleged conspiracy meeting did not happen.
