After the visit to Kalludër of Zubin Potok, where excavations are continuing for the third day since the existence of a mass grave from the last war in Kosovo is suspected, the head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo Blerim Isufaj stated that it has been confirmed that the remains found are of human origin, but he emphasized that the identification process is complicated and takes time.
” What is very important is that identification takes time and requires standards for obtaining and identifying each body through DNA. However, these remains cannot be removed so easily, because the human body must first be reconstructed and then sent to the Forensic Medicine, to continue with the other procedures…”
Isufaj called for caution with the statements on this issue, as according to him the investigation could be damaged and as a result its final result could deviate.
While visiting the village of Kalludër, acting president Albulena Haxhiu accused Serbia of hiding war crimes.
“As long as maximum effort is being made here to understand where the persons disappeared by violence are, we continue to face hate speech, chauvinistic rhetoric, denial of crimes and also territorial claims against the Republic of Kosovo by the heads of institutions in Serbia, either here from Vučić, or here from Bärnabić. Regarding this case, the Kosovo Police have arrested two Serbs who are suspected of involvement in the murder of 23 Albanian civilians, who are suspected to be the “group of intellectuals of Mitrovica” who disappeared during the 1999 war.
