Dodik is removed from the diplomatic passport, loses mandate and prohibited by politics for 6 years

Former President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has been abolished diplomatic passports. The decision was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Dodik was left 15 days to submit it.

In case of non -use, the passport shall be considered invalid and the border authorities and diplomatic missions shall be notified. This decision comes after a legal process that led to the conclusion of his term as President of Republika Srpska.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to abolish the Dodik mandate, a decision confirmed the day before by the Bosnian and Herzegovina courts, as Dodik’s lawyers had previously appealed.

The former President of the Republic of Srpska has been terminated due to a final sentence for non-implementation of the decisions of the High Representative in the country. He was sentenced to one year in prison, which he avoided through the payment of a monetary amount of about 20,000 euros, and was banned from participating in political functions for six years. As a result, he has already officially lost the function of the president.

Dodik has reacted to the decision, describing the political one and warned that it will pursue other legal ways to oppose it.

In the meantime, the Bosnian authorities regard the decision as almighty and applicable. The situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains tense, while the international community is closely following developments in the country.
