BIA advises Vučić not to go to Montenegro, the Serbian president confirmed his presence in Tivat

The Serbian Security and Information Agency (BIA) advised the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, not to travel to Tivat for the EU-Western Balkans summit for security reasons, a request that the Serbian head of state rejected, saying that he did not feel threatened. “I will go to Montenegro, as it is important to represent Serbia there,” Vucic declared.

The warning came because, according to the Serbian Security Agency, there is also the leader of the Kavač criminal clan, Radoje Zvicer, who is on the list of the 50 most wanted in Europe. After the BIA’s announcement, Podgorica says that staying in Montenegro is safe.

“On the eve of the Summit in Tivat, we will do everything so that our friends, allies and partners are received at the highest level and ensure the successful and dignified organization of this important international event for us. Montenegro guarantees a safe stay for all participants” – the announcement of the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry states.

The Montenegrin police also gave a guarantee for the success of the summit, which raised the security measures to the maximum level.

“We will respond strongly, decisively and in a preventive manner to any attempt to threaten security, constitutional order, destabilize institutions, disrupt public order or harm citizens, participants in the Summit and Montenegro” – it is stated in a statement.

Based on the increased controls that also included the airport of Tivat, where the summit will be held, the police put under control a charter flight coming from Belgrade, where after the checks, about 90 Serbian citizens were expelled on the grounds that they posed a security risk.
