At the age of 114, the oldest Italian woman died at Christmas

Claudia Baccarini Baldi was born on October 13, 1910 in the city of Faenza in the province of Ravenna. She got married at the age of 33 and had ten children with her husband, who was the mayor of Faenza in the 1950s.

“My 114 years? I no longer count my years. Honestly, I’m experiencing more that my daughter will soon be 90 years old,” Claudia, who died at home in Faenza on the night of December 25, said according to Il Messaggero in November.

The American research agency Gerontology Research Group stated that the current oldest living person in the world is the 116-year-old Japanese woman Tomiko Itoka, who was born on May 23, 1908.
