ANO is to be led in the elections in Brno by a member of parliament and the head of the Trojan cannabis plant

Trojan was nominated on Friday at the regional assembly, where there were dozens of delegates. The number two should be the head of the General Internal Clinic of the Brno University Hospital, Ondřej Ludka, and the number three should be the former head of the South Moravian traffic police, Jindřich Rybka. This was confirmed by a source on the condition of anonymity. Trojan did not comment on the situation and referred to regional chairman Alena Schillerová, who did not pick up the phone and did not respond to messages.

Even the SPD still hasn’t revealed the leader yet. Brno representative Leoš Prokeš said that the regional conference of the Brno SPD, which should decide on the form of the candidate, will be held on June 8. Communists also plan to take part in the elections under the label Restart for Brno, led by the Brno party chairman Martin Říha.

SOCDEM also wants to field a candidate in the city, the former mayor of the Brno-Kohoutovice district, Petr Šafařík, who is in charge of leading the Brno organization, confirmed to Novinkám. It should be clear in June, including who will be the leader.

It was SOCDEM that was one of the members that formed a post-election coalition together with ODS and TOP 09, ANO, the People’s Party and mayors in the second largest domestic city. The coalition subsequently experienced a number of changes and, for example, all three elected representatives from SOCDEM, which is experiencing an exodus throughout the republic, left the party.

Another change in the coalition was the secession of three members of the ANO movement. The remaining ten were excluded by the movement after they refused to leave the coalition led by the ODS. After the bitcoin scandal erupted, the ANO leadership pointed out that the mayor of Brno Markéta Vaňková (ODS) and her deputy Robert Kerndl (ODS) are close associates of Blažek. That is why it demanded to leave the coalition, which was obeyed by only three members, not ten.

The big change for this year’s elections is that neither Vaňková nor Kerndl will run. Vaňková, although she has been mayor for eight years, decided to do so for health reasons. ODS with TOP will thus put independent film director Kamila Zlatušková in the position of number one. KDU-ČSL Starosty is betting on the current mayor of Brno-Kohoutovice, Jakub Hruška. The pirates formed a coalition with the Fakt Brno movement, the Idealists and the Gen movement called TU!, whose leader will be the representative of Brno, Adam Zemek.

But new groups will also appear. Excluded members of ANO will form a list of candidates called Brno klidem, it will be led by the mayor’s deputy Karin Podivinská and former governor Bohumil Šimek will also appear on it. The former architect of the city of Brno, Michal Sedláček, will lead the New Brno movement, and the leader of the Zbrojovka fans’ movement, called Za Lužánky, is the director of the Tourist Information Center Jana Janulíková.
