In the framework of the preparations for the Mediterranean Games “Prishtina 2030”, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, has announced the development of an important coordination meeting between the leaders of the sports institutions of Kosovo and Albania. At the center of this meeting was the organization of the big sports event and the key role that the city of Durrës will have as the host of water sports competitions.
This cooperation table was attended by high personalities of international and regional sports: the President of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) and at the same time the President of the Olympic Committee of Malta, Julian Pace Bonello; Secretary General of ICMG, Iakovos Filippousis; The President of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo, Ismet Krasniqi; The President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, Fidel Ylli, as well as the advisor to the Minister of Sports of Kosovo, Drilon Brahimi.
Minister Gonxhja announced that during the meeting, the inspection process and the general logistical and organizational coordination of the games were discussed extensively. During the talks, it was reconfirmed that Albania, through the coastal infrastructure of Durrës, will have a specific weight in the smooth running of the water disciplines of this major event.
For his part, the President of ICMG, Julian Pace Bonello, was impressed by the hospitality and the visible progress of Albanian sports. He praised the mutual support and strategic cooperation between the institutions of Albania and Kosovo, as a solid guarantee for the successful realization of the Mediterranean Games “Prishtina 2030”.
