A senior in Prachaticka beat two ten-year-old children on the street of branches

“Prachatic police officers are looking for witnesses to the incident that should have happened on Sunday afternoon around three o’clock in Husinci near the bridge. An adult man was supposed to drive two children away from a wooden waterman statue, which they were supposed to damage by throwing a ball. The man even had to hit the minor children with a stick or a long branch,” said Martina Joklová, spokeswoman for the Prachatice police, adding that the children eventually ran away home.

A ten-year-old boy lives in a local asylum with his father, while the girl is a local. They became friends and went out together on Sunday afternoon. They allegedly threw a ball against a tree and hit a wooden statue of a waterman in the hollow of a tree. According to the affected parents and the director of the asylum, the children were attacked by a former municipal politician.

“The children described it as a brutal attack. They were standing next to each other and without any warning he started beating them. I filed a criminal complaint because the gentleman cannot get away with this. He cannot run up to the children and start beating them head to head. They received at least eight blows, the daughter caught three or four,” the crying mother Iveta Truhlářová told Novinka. Her daughter is in the České Budějovice hospital after the incident.

“She was first in the Prachatice hospital, but they released her saying that she was fine. However, she complained of a headache, so yesterday we took her to the hospital in České Budějovice, where they found out that her arm had been hit, and they gave her a shell because her spine was blocked, probably from the way she was dodging,” stated the girl’s mother.

After the attack, she had red marks on her face, on her thigh, on her hand and on the back of her head. Truhlářová did not understand the man’s behavior at all. “Just yell at my daughter and she’ll run away. He had to beat her without warning,” she reflected.

Father Radek Bureš stated that his boy is now afraid to go to the bus station in Husinc, where the incident occurred. “He got my boy down mentally. It’s inhumane, and I’m worried myself. I already talked to Mr. I and he claimed that it was not so dramatic. He even took a stick at me. I hope that everything will be investigated,” hopes Bureš.

He also lives with his son in the nearby Rybka Asylum. “They are little ten-year-old children who were playing with a ball and hit the waterman. I don’t understand at all how someone could beat them, that they could even afford it. He doesn’t like the residents of our house and he doesn’t hide it either,” reflected the director of the asylum Eva Dvořáková. She added that both children vomited after the attack and the parents filed a criminal complaint.

On the spot, News tried to get the statement of a man, a former local politician, who had just arrived at the house by car from shopping. Then he drove into the yard and didn’t talk to anyone.

Police officers working on the case are looking for witnesses. “Anyone who saw the incident or has any information about it should contact the Prachatice police officers at the district department or use line 158,” urges police spokesperson Joklová.
