A Polish couple found the remains of 29 unborn children under the road to their new house

“The discovery was made during earthworks on the property. Among the things discovered was a human fetus and other remains that could be human fetuses in the early stages of development or their fragments. Specialist doctors were then sent to the scene of the incident, who confirmed that the secured remains are the remains of human fetuses,” the Polish newspaper Fakt quoted prosecutor Krzysztof Ciechanowski.

The pathologist, referred to by the Polish media as Magdalena H., performed examinations for hospitals and various state institutions. According to the investigators’ hypothesis, however, the woman apparently burned the remains herself in the garden in violation of the regulations and then buried them on her property. At the same time, the newspaper speculates that the motive could have been to save money.

The woman, who now has a workplace in Řešov, was detained by the police on Friday. It happened two days after the terrifying discovery. The pathologist already knew that the police were interested in her, but she did not try to hide from them in any way. According to the prosecutor’s office, she can theoretically face up to 12 years in prison for defaming the remains and improper handling of hazardous waste.

Meanwhile, investigators continue to work in the field. “A water supply tank has arrived in Lutoryž. It seems that the investigators will also take a closer look at the sewage system,” noted the newspaper Fakt.

The new owners bought the land roughly half a year ago. Neighbors say they don’t remember the previous owner very much. Some told reporters that she was “a little weird” without being able to say exactly why. “I didn’t even know what the woman was doing. I only knew her by sight,” recounted one of the villagers.
