More than 83 percent of the votes cast in Kosovo’s diplomatic missions were won by the Self-Determination Movement of acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti in the last parliamentary elections on June 7.
According to data from the Central Election Commission, Vetëvendosje secured 18,789 votes.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo came second with 1608 votes or 7.13% of the votes, to be followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo with 1490 votes and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo with 464 votes.
While the counting of ballots in diplomatic missions has been completed, the counting of votes by mail and conditional voting is still to be completed.
The spokesperson of the CEC, Elezi, meanwhile, informed that 2244 ballots submitted by mail were rejected.
“CEC has started counting votes from postal voting and this process will take several days.
As we explained earlier, from the 23 CEC mailboxes open for this type of voting, more than 85,700 supposed ballot packages have been withdrawn, most of which, so far, have been evaluated by the CEC voting service and are ready to be counted.
By the end of Friday (June 12, 2026), over 60,000 packages were included in the evaluation process, of which 59,973 were approved, while 2,244 were rejected.
The most expressed reason why these packages were rejected is because in 2,066 cases the registration receipt is missing, a document with unique data, which the registered voter receives from the CEC“, said Elezi.
After the end of the counting of the votes submitted by post, it will be Thursday the turn of counting the votes from conditional voting, and votes from the voting of persons with special needs.
