A woman under the influence of alcohol arrived at the gas station on Sunday, December 8. She attracted the attention of the people around her by hanging around – and at first glance it was obvious that she had been drinking before driving. Therefore, they called the emergency number 156. The policemen immediately responded to the call and started looking for the drunk driver and her car.
“They caught her at the moment when she had just parked at her place of residence. She did not deny consuming alcohol before driving, and the subsequent breath test showed that she had 2.12 per thousand of alcohol circulating in her veins,” described Ivana Baláková, spokeswoman for the Police of the Czech Liberec Region.
The little boy was immediately taken into the care of his grandmother, and his mother is now facing criminal prosecution for endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance. Not only is the woman likely to lose her driver’s license, but she may also end up in prison. Its proceedings will also be of interest to social care workers.
