This was shown by today’s Eurostat data. Across the European Union, diesel prices rose by 19.1 percent month-on-month on average in March, while gasoline prices rose by 10.6 percent.
Prices rose the most in the Czech Republic and Sweden, by 27.6 percent. In Estonia it was by 26.8 percent and by more than a quarter it was still in Latvia, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The smallest changes in diesel prices were recorded by Slovenians (by 2.9 percent), Slovaks and Hungarians (both by 7 percent). In all other EU countries it was at least ten percent.
Gasoline prices rose less in the twenty-seven states. Belgium, Sweden and Austria recorded the biggest increase, around 15 percent. The Czech Republic ranked fourth in this regard. Gasoline prices rose by 14.2 percent in Estonia and Lithuania. Prices rose the least again in Slovenia (by 2.4 percent), Slovakia (3.8), Hungary (4.7) and Italy (4.8).
