With his ultimatum, Trump is trying to end the blockade that led to a global increase in oil prices. However, Iranian representatives and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards answered him on Sunday that they would not submit. On the contrary, they said that if the Americans attack Iran’s power plants, Iranian forces will irreparably damage all energy infrastructure in the area, thus ensuring that oil prices will remain high for a very long time.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards also promised the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz in the event of a strike on Iranian energy, which, according to their statement, is open to all states without ties to aggressors. Iranian President Masúd Pezeškján, in turn, said that Trump’s threats show the desperation of the Americans.
