On Friday, the hall of the LPP Holding armory burned down in Pardubice. The group The Earthquake Faction claimed to start the fire with the intention of attacking the production of weapons for Israel. Since zbrojovka does not produce weapons for Israel and, on the contrary, supplies Ukraine, theories about a possible Russian trace also appear.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš canceled his trip to Budapest because of the fire.
“The Czech Republic was hit by a terrorist attack yesterday. I would like to express our support and condolences to Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and the Czech people. Unfortunately, with the war in the Middle East, terrorism appeared in places where we did not expect it,” Orbán said in a video posted on Facebook.
“That’s why I held consultations with our national security officials last night and we designated the international group responsible for the attack in the Czech Republic as a terrorist organization. If any of their members enter Hungarian territory, they will be immediately arrested,” the prime minister said.
In Hungary, since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, which began with the American-Israeli attacks on Iran on the last day of February, the level of terrorist danger has been increased, and this heightened state of alert remains in force, according to the prime minister.
“Whatever happens, we will protect Hungary and the safety of Hungarian families,” assured Orbán, who is expected to face the most difficult parliamentary elections since his return to power in 2010 next month.
