The European Union has removed all austerity measures imposed on Kosovo in June 2023.
This decision was also welcomed by the ambassador of Kosovo in Albania Skënder Durmishi, speaking from Gjirokastra:
“It is good news of course. Late, but these measures were not unnecessary for any particular reason. Now it is to evaluate the correction of this decision that was unnecessary“
Durmishi has evaluated the relations with the EU especially since the time when he offered assistance to Kosovo in matters of economic development, while he says that he is waiting for the examination of the request for membership in the big European family.
“The EU has helped Kosovo with issues of economic development, and then with the Stabilization Association, then with visa liberalization, but we are moving slowly. But I think that we deserve these processes to go faster, but we are waiting for Kosovo’s request for membership in the EU, which has already been applied, to be examined.”
Durmishi was today at “Eqrem Cabej” University, where he held an open lecture on the topic “Republic of Kosovo: 18 years of Independence – successes and challenges”.
