The accident occurred shortly after a quarter to three in the afternoon at the Drinopol public transport stop in Bělohorská street in Prague. “There was a collision between a tram and a young girl. Bělohorská street had to be closed in both directions for all traffic and also for pedestrians. We are investigating the causes and circumstances of the accident,” police spokesman Jan Rybanský told Novinkám.
Rybanský later stated that the girl succumbed to her injuries. “She suffered injuries incompatible with life,” he added. The girl was wedged under the set after the accident. The tram had to be lifted by a crane and firefighters worked to rescue the young pedestrian. Paramedics and police officers also intervened on the scene.
