Minister Hoxha welcomes the mayor of the Municipality of Presheva: Albania remains committed to protecting the rights of Albanians in the Valley

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, received today in a meeting the mayor of the Municipality of Presheva, Mrs. Ardita Sinani, where the situation, problems and challenges faced by Albanians in the Presheva Valley were discussed.

After the meeting, the minister reacted on the X platform, emphasizing Albania’s commitment to support and protect the rights of Albanians in this region.

I had the pleasure of meeting today the Mayor of the Municipality of Presheva, Mrs. Ardita Sinani. We talked openly about the situation, problems and challenges faced by Albanians in the Presheva Valley,” – wrote Hoxha.

He has underlined that Albania is determined to stand by the Albanians of the Valley, considering this as a national and institutional obligation.

Albania remains fully committed to supporting and protecting the rights of Albanians in the Valley. Albanian institutions will continue to closely follow the situation of Albanians there and remain continuously engaged, both in bilateral dialogue and in international forums, to promote and protect their legitimate rights and interests, to address the issues that concern them and to promote policies that guarantee equality, respect and fair opportunities,” – the minister emphasized.

In his response, Hoxha emphasized the importance of respecting human rights, national identity, language and fair institutional representation, calling this the foundation for building a democratic and inclusive society.

Support for the economic, educational and cultural development of the Albanian community in the Presheva Valley remains an important priority. Albania will continue to work closely with Albanian representatives in the Valley and with international partners to guarantee equality, dignity and perspective for their future“, he added.
