During the works, bones were found in an area of the municipality of Rahovec, which are suspected to belong to persons who disappeared during the war in Kosovo.
According to official reports, the police unit in coordination with the Institute of Forensic Medicine, and based on the court’s order, during the excavations came across bones of human origin, which are suspected to belong to at least one individual who disappeared during the 1998-1999 war.
The authorities have announced that the remains have been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination, including autopsy and DNA analysis, in order to identify the person or possible persons.
Investigations into the circumstances of finding the remains continue, while the authorities are working to clarify whether they are related to cases of missing persons during the war in Kosovo.
