The Alexander brothers were arrested in December 2024 and have been in custody since then, Reuters reports on the case. Tal Alexander faced seven and his brothers six charges related to the seven victims. In total, however, eleven women testified before the court during the six-week trial, who testified that one or more of the brothers had sexually abused them.
“They used a consistent procedure to lure, isolate and rape their victims. They did so recklessly and with a perverse sense of pride,” Manhattan prosecutor Jay Clayton said before the court.
The accused were found guilty in all cases. The court will determine the length of the sentence on April 6, but Alon Alexander’s lawyer Howard Srebnick has already stated that his client will appeal the sentence. The defenders of the remaining brothers have not yet commented on the verdict.
The legal teams of the convicts claimed during the trial that their clients talked about sex with each other in indiscriminate terms and behaved in a way that upset their partners, but the women who accused them of rape agreed to the sexual intercourse. “He (Alon) should be ashamed of how he behaved over the years. But that’s not a crime,” Srebnick said before the court.
The trial of the Alexander brothers was closely watched because Oren and Tal are the founders of the successful luxury real estate agency Official, while Alon held a senior position in a security company before his arrest. It was also remarkable that each of the brothers had their own legal team.
Oren was also represented by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragosová, who last year represented rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who also faced charges of sex trafficking. He was acquitted, but at the same time he was found guilty of charges related to prostitution. He is currently serving a four-year prison sentence for those.
