After Iran, it is Cuba’s turn. It’s only a matter of time, Trump indicated

According to Trump, the Iranian government is not the last to succumb in a confrontation with the US. “Cuba will also fall,” according to CNBC, Trump said during a Thursday meeting with the Inter Miami CF team, the winner of the top soccer league in 2025.

“We want to finish one thing (Iran) first, but it’s only a matter of time before you and a lot of other incredible people can return to Cuba,” the president said, referring to the fact that many Cuban emigrants live in Miami.

“We cut off all their (Cuba’s) oil, all their money, everything that came from Venezuela, which was their only source,” Trump added, adding that after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by American troops, instability in Cuba is increasing.

“It’s of course thanks to my intervention, otherwise they wouldn’t have the problem,” the head of the White House said. According to him, Cuba needs help and its leadership therefore wants to negotiate. American Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, who has Cuban roots, is in contact with them.

“Marco is doing a fantastic job. And you are also doing a fantastic job in the field called Cuba,” Trump added to the applause of those present, many of whom were of Cuban descent.

Last week, Trump did not rule out that his pressure on Cuba would end with an agreement on a “friendly takeover” of the Caribbean island nation. “They have big problems and I think we could do something good, very positive for the people who were expelled or for those who are worse off and live in Cuba,” Trump said.

Due to the lack of oil supplies, the Cuban government declared emergency measures and significantly reduced all basic services. Electricity supply interruptions are planned daily. Since the 1960s, when the communist party led by Fidel Castro came to power in Cuba, the US has supported several attempts to change conditions on the island and declared an embargo against Cuba.
