Today, Kosovo marks 28 years since the heroic fall of the Jashars

Today marks 28 years since the heroic fall of the Jashari family from Prekazi, one of the most glorious events in the recent history of Kosovo.

This date marks the beginning of the KLA Epic, which represents the sublime sacrifice for freedom and national dignity, which ultimately culminated in the freedom and independence of Kosovo.

On March 5, 6 and 7, 1998, Serbian forces surrounded the tower of Jashar. In an unequal confrontation, Adem Jashari, together with his family, chose endurance until sacrifice, becoming a symbol of invincibility and determination for liberation, KosovaPress quotes.

Their fall awakened national consciousness and mobilized thousands of boys and girls to join the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army. From that day, the Epic of the KLA turned into a dedication to freedom, marking a decisive turning point in the journey towards the liberation and independence of Kosovo.

On this marked day, a solemn session of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will be held, as well as a solemn meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
