The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MINTI) informs the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that it is monitoring with increased vigilance the increase in the price of oil derivatives from the economic operators dealing with the trading of oil derivatives.
The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate has intensified surveillance in the oil derivatives sector throughout the country, to protect the consumer, through daily and continuous field inspections of economic operators.
Given that Kosovo is an importing country of petroleum products and price movements in international markets are directly reflected in the local market, but that these price movements of petroleum products must be in accordance with the standards determined on the basis of Law no. 08/L-018 for Trade in Petroleum Products and Renewable Fuels.
This surveillance will continue intensively throughout the following days, through field inspections.
In case of immediate and unjustified price fluctuations at the trading points of oil derivatives, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Industry will assess in detail the possibility of taking the Decision through which price regulation is established and other protective measures are set for oil products, which also foresees increased supervision by Kosovo Customs, the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, as well as the Tax Administration of Kosovo.
