Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi have become targets of Iranian missiles and drones

The air defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has faced 186 ballistic missiles fired over its territory from Iran since the beginning of the war, according to a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense there. They managed to destroy 172 of them, 13 fell into the sea and one landed on the territory of the emirates, he added. The ministry announced on Sunday that it had detected 541 Iranian drones, of which it had captured and destroyed 506.

There is currently no communication between Qatar and Iran, said Mádžid Ansári, spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday. Qatar is an important ally of the United States in the Middle East, and its territory is home to the largest American military base in the Al-Udayd region. At the same time, Qatar has long-term close relations with Iran and has repeatedly played the role of mediator between Tehran and the West in the past.

Oman, which also has close relations with Iran, also faced the Iranian drone attack, and as recently as February mediated indirect talks between Tehran and the US. One of the drones hit a fuel storage tank in the port of Dakm. The American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which is now in the Arabian Sea, was also refueling in the port.

In retaliation for the American-Iranian strikes that began on Saturday, Iran is also attacking the territory of the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have threatened further attacks on economic centers in the region if the US and Israeli strikes continue.
