The opening statements in the trial against Hashim Thaçi, Bashkim Smakaj, Isni Kilaj, Fadil Fazliu and Hajredin Kuçi, who are accused of obstruction of justice, will take place today at 09:30 in the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague.
According to the indictment, the above-mentioned persons are suspected of having made available confidential information regarding witnesses and given instructions to influence their testimony, with the aim of obstructing the normal course of the judicial process.
All five accused have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
After the conclusion of the opening statements, the Prosecution will continue with the presentation of evidence before the court. Trial sessions are scheduled from March 2 to 6.
