A foreigner in a Porsche raced along the D1 near Brno with a two-hundredth

Policemen from the highway department from Ivanovice na Hané stopped the racer behind the wheel on Thursday afternoon and informed about the case on Tuesday.

“Because it was a misdemeanor that cannot be solved by a fine on the spot, the whole matter was referred to administrative proceedings. Due to the reasonable fear that the foreigner might avoid administrative proceedings, he was given bail in the amount of 25,000 crowns on the spot. In administrative proceedings, he faces a fine of up to 25,000 crowns, a driving ban for 6 to 18 months and the addition of 6 points to the driver’s points assessment,” informed the police spokesperson Petr Vala.

The foreigner lost his driver’s license on the spot and his female passenger had to replace him behind the wheel.

At the same time, the man significantly exceeded the speed in places where columns often start to form due to the reconstruction of the crossing of the D1 and D2 highways. Crashing into a suddenly appearing column from behind is a frequent cause of tragic accidents. At the same time, high speed significantly lengthens the braking distance and reduces the driver’s ability to react correctly to sudden situations.
