Minister Sveçla: Kosovo’s institutional stability has influenced the increase in security

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has stated that Kosovo continues to rank first in the Western Balkans for the level of security.

Referring to the “SecuriMeter 2025” report of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized that Kosovo has the highest level of perception of personal security in the region.

According to him, 64% of citizens have expressed that they feel “very safe” or “quite safe” in their daily life, the highest percentage among the six countries of the Western Balkans.

Sveçla described this result as a reconfirmation of citizens’ trust in security and defense institutions, stressing that the Government’s continuous support to the army and the police has influenced the strengthening of capacities and the increase of their efficiency.

He added that institutional sustainability has had a positive impact on increasing security, combating negative phenomena and advancing democratic progress. As a result, 80.5% of citizens have declared that they do not want to emigrate, an indicator that, according to him, represents an improvement compared to previous years.

In the end, the minister congratulated the officials of the institutions for the dedication and professionalism shown in the service of the Republic and the citizens.
