A piece of ice fell from the roof on a pedestrian in Mariánské Lázně. He almost killed her

The event happened on January 14 right in the center of Mariánské Lázní around 5 p.m. “We can confirm that we went out to the woman on whom a piece of ice fell from the roof,” said Simona Kratochvílová for the rescue service.

She also said that the fifty-one-year-old patient suffered very serious head injuries. “After treatment on the spot, we transported her to the emergency department of the Pilsen University Hospital,” she added.

As Fairpress found out, the woman’s life was in immediate danger. In the medical facility, it became clear that she had, among other things, contusions of the brain and spinal cord. She has already undergone several operations.

The editors contacted the manager of Gala hotels, which also includes Excelsior, Marián Rapáce. However, he did not want to comment on the event. Criminal investigators took over the case. “We have initiated criminal proceedings in the matter on suspicion of committing the crime of serious bodily harm due to negligence,” informed police spokesman Jakub Kopřiva.
