Trial in The Hague, MP Malay: The prosecution’s claim is shameful. The former leaders of KLA have won their freedom with blood and no court can take it away

The four former leaders of the KLA, who have been charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity, demanded justice at the final session of their trial in The Hague.

The former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, the former parliamentarians, Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, and the former deputy, Rexhep Selimi, declared themselves innocent again in their closing statements.

“This is an insult that is being done not only to those 4 heroes, but to the Albanian nation, to all those who fell for the freedom of Kosovo and to those who made the freedom of Kosovo possible, including NATO, the USA and anyone who intervened to stop this massacre. I wish that the final decision will give justice and represent those values of the West that we have seen with admiration and intend to achieve. They are free, they have earned it. “No court can take away that freedom. This shameful claim does not make sense to anyone who knows what happened in Kosovo. They are unfounded accusations that aim to violate the dignity of these individuals and the entire war in Kosovo. It is being treated as a political decision,” he said.
