The election of the President, Kurti meets with the head of PDK, Bedri Hamza

When there are less than ten days left from the constitutional deadline for the election of the President of Kosovo, Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a meeting with the chairman of PDK, Bedri Hamza, in the framework of parliamentary coordination efforts.

During the meeting, the need for cooperation was emphasized in order to ensure a successful vote for the election of the President, bearing in mind that at least two-thirds (2/3) of the votes of the members of the Assembly are required in the session.

Also, political developments in the country and in the region were discussed, as well as the necessity of opening a new chapter of communication and constructive dialogue between the government and the opposition, in order to strengthen party and democratic pluralism.

“During the meeting, the need for cooperation between deputies was discussed to ensure a successful vote, bearing in mind that at least 2/3 of the votes of the Assembly are needed in the session. It was also discussed about the political developments in the country and beyond, as well as the need to open a new chapter of communication and constructive dialogue between the government and the opposition, for the benefit of our Republic and party and democratic pluralism. Of course, the topic of the conversation was also the issue of the election of the President, for which there are only 10 days left according to the constitutional deadlines”, says the notice issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The issue of electing the President was the central topic of the conversation, given that the constitutional terms are coming to an end.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Kurti has warned that on Monday, February 23, he will also meet with the chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, to continue parliamentary consultations and coordination regarding this process.
